ERHC Energy showcases farm – in opportunities in Kenya and Chad.

ERHC Energy Inc. (ERHC) a Houston – based independent oil and gas company that focuses on growth through high impact exploration in Africa and the development of undeveloped marginal fields is seeking a dynamic partner to join it in an aggressive exploration program in Block 11A in the company’s NW Kenya block, described by the exploration manager, Gertjan van Mechelen as attractive and prospective in a politically stable domain.

The block is located in NW Kenya adjacent to the border with South Sudan. There is structural setting in the vicinity of intersection between Cretaceous and Tertiary Rift Systems. Mechelen, ERHC senior scientist and exploration manager in a recent chat with Energy & Corporate Africa in Houston, stated that significant production is already in place in the Cretaceous basins of South Sudan and recent discoveries in the Tertiary rifts in Uganda and Kenya shows the block to be attractive and prospective.

Gertjan van Mechelen went further to say that ERHC Energy also has farm – in opportunity in blocks adjacent to the prolific and currently producing Doba Basin Oil Fields in the Republic of Chad. ERHC Energy Inc. is offering interested parties the opportunity to obtain substantial equity in its Chari-Quest 111, BDS 2008 and Manga Blocks in Chad.

It is pertinent to inform our readers that Gertjan van Mechelen, the senior Geoscientsist and exploration manager of ERHC Energy will be making a keynote presentation at the upcoming 6th Annual Sub-Saharan Africa Oil and Gas Conference scheduled for April 25 -26, 2013 at the Marriott West Loop, Houston, Texas, USA. Mechelen’s presentation will be on the challenges of oil exploration onshore Kenya. Mechelen will also touch on the geopolitics, and socioeconomic trends in the country. He will equally use the forum to showcase the farm-in opportunities available in ERHC Energy and have discussions with interested companies.

Gertjan van Mechelen is ERHC Energy's Exploration Manager. He oversees exploration activities at the Company’s growing portfolio of onshore and offshore assets in Africa. Van Mechelen has more than 35 years experience in oil and gas exploration. He worked previously in Africa, Southeast Asia, China, Europe and North America with ConocoPhillips and TransAtlantic Petroleum. Van Mechelen is in charge of formulating and implementing the Company's exploration strategies as well as planning, budgeting and executing all aspects of the exploration phases for ERHC’s exploration licenses. His expertise includes interpretation, prospect generation and farm-in evaluation. Van Mechelen earned a Masters Degree in Structural Geology and Exploration Geophysics from Rijks University Utrecht.
